Char Siu seasoning, or more usually spelled Char Sui brings vibrant colour and the traditional flavours of the orient. Rich with Smoked Paprika, traditional spices of Chinese cuisine and a few fantastic flavoursome additions to make your tastebuds sing.
The quest to curate a Chinese glazing rub took Angus and Oink some time to perfect, playing with various ingredients to get the depth of flavour and great colour from natural sources and with banging flavours. The results speak for itself!
Directions for using Char Siu seasoning:
Insanely delicious on a pork belly cooked on the BBQ or oven, Char Siu Seasoning compliments chicken wings or pork belly whatever your preference may be!
It's a flavour bomb of an add-on for homemade bacon curing too and some of the best bacon we have ever made used this together with our Sweet Maple Chipotle Bacon cure.
For all our vegan customers, you will be glad to know that the Char Siu seasoning is vegan friendly and great for adding a bit to stir-fries too for a burst of Chinese flavour!

Use Char Siu seasoning to marinate meat (or tofu!) for grilling, roasting, or slow cooking. This product was developed with inspiration from Chinese roasted pork fragrant, colourful, and uniquely mental oriental.
Apply Char Siu seasoning rub to the moist meat surface at least one hour prior to cooking and allow it to soak in. Apply an even coating, use at approximately 3-6% meat weight, cook away from direct heat where possible to avoid over-charring.
Try These Char Siu seasoning Recipes:
For the Pork Slices, simply dust 1-inch-thick slices of pork belly with a generous amount of Angus & Oink Char Siu seasoning and pop on the smoker at 140-160oC with a little cherry smoke for a couple of hours until the pork belly starts to crisp up and the meat becomes tender.
For Char Siu Chicken, in a bowl, mix all the Char Siu ingredients together. Stir to mix well. Add the garlic, chicken, and the Char Siu seasoning together. Stir to coat well. Preheat oven to 200°C. Place the chicken on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Roast for 20 minutes or until the skin is nicely charred. Slice the chicken into pieces and top with sesame seeds.
Store in a cool dry location in the container provided, keep sealed.
